Spring is finally just around the corner. Beat the last of the winter blues by adding a few happy hues to your home. We’re looking at the Pantone spring color report for inspiration.
We don’t know about you, but after a long drab winter we’re ready to rock some pretty pops of color.
Bright and pretty hues are popping up on clothing racks in stores now. We’re taking a clue from the cheery spring colors being spotted in fashion and translating the look for home.
Emerald green was named Pantone’s 2013 Color of the Year, but it’s being paired with other spotlight-steeling shades in global color authority Pantone’s Spring 2013 Fashion Color Report.
Spring shades we’re loving:
Not so mellow yellow
Yellow can bring an instant burst of sunshine and cheeriness to your home for spring. Pair it with a neutral gray for a chic and totally on trend color combo.
Green with envy
Emerald green might be getting loads of attention throughout the whole year, but minty fresh shades and lime greens are what’s hot for spring. Use small doses of mint green throughout your space for a beachy vibe or coordinate it with 1-2 other pastel shades for an Easter-inspired color palette.
Both Emerald and lime green look super stylish paired with black and white neutrals and graphic patterns. Combine with accents in Monaco Blue for a fresh take on a nautical look.
Maybe green is the new neutral after all.
Pretty pastels
Get in touch with your inner girly girl because feminine pastels are perfect for spring. We like the African Violet, Grayed Jade, and Dusk Blue shades pictured above and would also add pastel pinks to the mix.
Go over-the-top with Easter decorations in these sweet shades for a festive feel.
Or, keep it simple and just sprinkle in a few permanent home accents in pastel colors for a feminine vibe that’s not overly sweet.
